Mid-range specs and a huge battery for what we are used to. This is the Huawei Y7 Prime, the last phone that has introduced the brand in China.
The midrange is one of the most disputed ranges on Android. It was an untapped market until not long ago, when we had only the choice between flagships and cheap phones. The Moto G, along with China, have been responsible for this market has exploded. And now we have a lot of options to choose from within this mid-range.
Huawei is one of the many manufacturers that is betting on the mid-range. The big manufacturers not only live on flagships, like the Huawei P10 or the Huawei Mate 9. The mid-range is important as well as being a source of juicy benefits. And today they have presented in USA a mid-range device that stands out for its battery.
Huawei Y7 Prime, technical sheet and images
- 5.5 inch IPS HD screen (1280 x 720 pixels)
- Processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 435
- 3 GB of RAM
- 32 GB internal memory + microSD
- 13 MP f / 2.2 rear camera
- 8MP front camera
- 4.000 mAh battery
- Rear fingerprint reader
- 4G / LTE Cat 4, micro USB, 3.5mm jack and Bluet
- Android 7.0 Nougat with EMUI 5.1
- 153.6 x 76.4 x 8.35 mm, 165 grams
Of course, the detail that stands out most of the set is the battery. 4.000 mAh is a fairly large size , above the market average. If we add the mid-range specifications, which should be low-power, we can expect a phone in which the battery will be no problem.
The rest of the specifications do not come as a surprise. A processor intended for the mid-range, more than enough RAM, fingerprint reader and Nougat. The only improvement would be the screen, which is too big for the little resolution it has. Although that should also help you spend little battery.
The phone is now available at Huawei’s online store in USA for 241 dollars. That’s about $239 dollars with the current currency exchange. Unfortunately there are no details on international availability, but hopefully we can get it in the usual Chinese online stores.
