Bridgestone Corporation Recognized As a Global Leader In Sustainable Water Management

Bridgestone Corporation today announced that it has been recognized as a global leader in sustainable water management and has therefore been nominated for this year’s CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) ranking, a global environmental outreach platform. to profit. More than 700 companies have been evaluated by CDP, but only 73, among them Bridgestone, are part of the “A List”.

The Bridgestone Group has been focusing on the Environment, beyond People and Mobility, as one of the Priority Areas to achieve the next phase of sustainable growth. The Group’s efforts are focused on Water-related resources, including the use of refrigeration and steam systems in production processes. The continuous use of these processes is a current production requirement that aligns with the Group’s activity. This set a target of reducing water consumption by 35% per unit by 2020 across the Group, based on 2005 levels. By 2016, the Group had achieved a 28.5% reduction.

In addition, Bridgestone is also implementing water risk and risk reduction reports in production facilities and working with partners for sustainable use of water resources.
