Introducing New Surface Pro From Microsoft Product

Introducing New Surface Pro From Microsoft Product

This morning, Microsoft introduced the new Surface Pro and Surface Laptop in a small media event, where we were able to use the new devices. In this article, I will comment on my first impressions on the new convertible equipment designed by the Panos Panay team, the Surface Pro.

The new Surface Pro comes to perfect a device we thought perfect with Pro 3

The history of the Surface Pro product range is on its way to five years. At this time, we have seen how the product evolved maintaining the essence: to achieve a device that serves as a tablet and laptop. In 2014, Redmond introduced the Surface Pro 3, which surprised strangers with a new stylus with N-Trig technology and a booth with a customizable 150-degree tour.

That team already seemed round, but the presentation of Surface Pro 4 and this new Surface Pro have shown us that there was still room for improvement. In fact, I now write these lines from my Surface Pro 3, whose renewal I did not think necessary for its successor beyond changing the keyboard and stylus.

15 degrees appear not to be differentiators, but the reality is quite different

What surprises me most about the new Surface Pro is what Microsoft calls “Studio Mode”. This feature refers to the possibility of using the device with a slope of 165 degrees, fifteen degrees more than the maximum offered by Surface Pro 3 and Surface Pro 4. The name comes from the known Surface Studio, since this position is intended to use it With the Surface Pen and the Surface Dial.

In my case, most of the time I use my Surface in the university to take notes. There are those who prefer to use it without opening the stand, but I like to take notes with a certain inclination because it facilitates the sliding of the stylus on the screen. With the new Surface Pro this task will be even more comfortable, although we will go into this in greater depth when we perform the analysis with the new Surface Pen.

Speaking about hardware and design of the new Surface Pro, apparently we found no more than a processor upgrade, although from Microsoft indicate that there are more than 800 changes from the previous iteration. Remember that another of the differentiating changes is that this new Surface Pro does not have fans on models with Intel Core m3 and Intel Core i5.

We will have to wait for an in-depth review to analyze the aspects of performance, refrigeration and autonomy, since it is something that is not possible to value correctly in a contact.

The softness on the keyboard comes with Alcantara

Although the Type Cover of Surface Pro 4 already stood out for being more like the keyboard of a conventional laptop, Microsoft wanted to give a “premium” touch to the new keyboards with Alcantara material. As far as I was able to use the new keyboard, it brings a feeling of softness to the touch that we do not find in other models , whose feel is more rugged when using them.

Although everything seems to point to the durability will be less, remember that this fabric has been used years in the upholstery of many vehicle brands. What it seems is that it will not be so simple will be remove the possible spots of the new Type Cover, something that is really easy on other keyboards for Surface.
